Standing on the Vistula riverbank in Powiśle, the Copernicus Science Centre (Centrum Nauki Kopernik) is the largest institution of its kind in Poland and one of the more advanced in Europe — a two-storey, 15,000-square-metre building holding over 450 interactive exhibits across six interdisciplinary galleries, plus a separate planetarium and Discovery Park.

It is one of Warsaw's best family attractions by a wide margin, and its free public rooftop garden — with 360-degree views over the river, the National Stadium, and the skyline — is worth the trip even without a museum ticket.

02 · Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the Copernicus Science Centre good for young children?

Yes — Bzz!, a section designed for children under five built around sensory exploration, sits alongside the broader Experimental Zone, which suits older children and adults.

Is the rooftop garden free?

Yes — the roof garden is open to the public without a museum ticket and offers a genuinely good view over the Vistula and the city skyline.

How much time should I budget?

Families often spend half a day here given the range of exhibits; add more time if you plan to see a planetarium show as well.
